Inspired by Pokémon-like creatures, I combine plant and human forms, giving them a human shape and sense of movement.

I was inspired by the wall paintings at Dunhuang, of which I chose my favourite mural of the story 'The Nine Coloured Deer', as I saw the cartoon adaptation of this film when I was very young. Many of the 1990s cartoons are now antiques and children today no longer see the ink style animation in every frame. My painting style is also based on rendered paintings, which is a kind of nostalgic sentiment. This silk drawing is of a golden deer standing on a rocky/cliff with rough waters below and a sky made up of dark to light clouds. I wanted to express respect for nature and being my brave self.
